When you need handwashing stations
- Events with food or drinks. Strongly recommended, and often required by vendors or venues
- Construction sites. OSHA requires adequate washing facilities for workers applying paints, coatings, herbicides or insecticides, or doing other work with harmful contaminants
- Farms and ag operations during harvest or events
- Any site where hand sanitizer alone isn't enough
How many stations?
A common guideline is one handwashing station for every ten portable toilets, with at least one wherever food is served. Large events often place stations near food areas as well as next to restrooms.
Frequently asked questions
Is hand sanitizer enough, or do I need a handwashing station?
Sanitizer works for many situations, but food service and some construction work call for real handwashing with soap and water. OSHA requires washing facilities for certain construction operations.
How many handwashing stations do I need?
Plan on about one station per ten portable toilets, plus at least one near any food service area.
Are handwashing stations serviced?
Yes. We refill water, soap and towels and empty the gray water when your units are serviced.
